MedTech Europe elects Michelle Brennan as new Chair of the Board

30 November 2017 – Michelle Brennan has been elected Chair of the Board of MedTech Europe during the association’s general assembly this afternoon. Mrs. Brennan is Company Group Chair for Johnson & Johnson Medical Device Business in the EMEA region. She will be the first woman leading the organisation which represents more than 100 corporate members and more than 40 national associations from the medical technology sector.

“I am honoured to have this responsibility and I thank my peers for this vote of confidence. I am sure that together we will be able to strengthen MedTech Europe and the medical technology sector in contributing to resilient and sustainable healthcare systems for the benefit of patients in Europe.” Michelle Brennan stated after her election.

A recipient of the Women in Business Achievement award from the YWCA of New Jersey, Michelle’s career stands as an example of commitment and ambition. In September 2015 Michelle assumed the role of Company Group Chair for  Johnson & Johnson Medical Device Business in the EMEA region.

Michelle Brennan will succeed Rob ten Hoedt, Executive Vice President & President, Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) for Medtronic, who will continue to be part of the Operations Management Committee as Vice-Chair.

“I look forward to working with Michelle in further advancing the role of MedTech Europe in driving healthcare to be more patient-centric and value-based. I would also like to thank Rob for his strong commitment and contribution to the organisation in the past years.”  said Serge Bernasconi, CEO of MedTech Europe.
