Joint Statement on EU-Switzerland agreement package and updated Mutual Recognition Agreement

MedTech Europe, Swiss Medtech and SVDI welcome the recent signature of a new package of agreements between the European Union and Switzerland aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and providing a more stable and predictable framework for economic and regulatory relations between the two partners.​

The update to the medical technology chapter of the MRA will allow medical devices certified in the EU or Switzerland to be accepted in both markets without duplicative regulatory procedures, while upholding high standards of safety and quality of devices.​

Strengthened regulatory cooperation between the EU and Switzerland contributes toreinforcing Europe’s position as a global hub for medical technology research, innovation and manufacturing. ​
