Rob ten Hoedt is Executive Vice President & President, Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) and a member of Medtronic’s Executive Committee.  Mr. ten Hoedt has been with Medtronic since 1991 and has over 25 years of experience in the medical device industry. Leading up to this position, he has held several different leadership roles in Medtronic.  He led the CardioVascular business for Europe & Central Asia and the Gastro-Uro business on a global basis before which he ran the wholly-owned Medtronic subsidiary Company, Vitatron.  Prior to Medtronic, he held different positions in medical technology companies such as Arjo Hospital Equipment and Polystan Benelux; and also ran his own Distributor Company for several years.  He is the Chairman of the Board of MedTech Europe, the Association representing the medical technology industry in Europe. Rob holds a degree in Commercial Economy from the H.E.A.O. and a Masters in Marketing from the NIMA Business School in the Netherlands.

Bronwyn is the President of the ImmunoDiagnostics Division of Thermo Fisher Scientific, leading the portfolio innovation and growth of the diagnostic testing business for allergy and autoimmune diseases. Patient access to testing across the globe is limited and her purpose and passion is to address barriers to testing so that patients get the right diagnosis and therapy thereby improving outcomes. She joined the company in 2019 as President of the EMEA region, where she was responsible for aligning the commercial strategies across all divisions to best support customers and leverage the breadth and scale of  Thermo Fisher Scientific. Previously Bronwyn worked at Medtronic where she held the position of Global Vice President/General Manager for Gynaecologic Health. During this time, she led the company’s expansion into the women’s health space and had overall responsibly for the global commercial teams as well as R&D and other support functions. Prior to that she was Vice President, Early Technologies, EMEA where she led a market development program to drive adoption of new therapies in the areas of lung, liver and oesophageal cancer. She also led the M & A  and subsequent integration of several start-ups in the gastrointestinal field into Medtronic. Bronwyn has over twenty years’ experience in the medical device industry having started her career at Johnson & Johnson where she had a range of senior executive roles, across the globe. She is a strong advocate of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and dedicates a significant amount of time to mentoring people from minority backgrounds looking to advance and realise their full potential in the healthcare industry. She is a graduate of Dublin City University with an MBA and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Marketing & Languages. She speaks Spanish and French. Bronwyn is a mother of two children and the greatest source of joy in her life is spending time with family and friends.

Dr Meinrad Lugan has an university degree in chemistry (Dipl. Chem.) as well as a PhD in organic chemistry (Dr. rer. nat.), both from the University of Freiburg (Institute for Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, Prof. Prinzbach). He has held positions as Director of R&D and Director of International Business Development (BUCK System GmbH), Technical Director (BUCK Environmental LLC), Vice President (BUCK CMI Asia), and CEO (MCG Metall-Chemie Goerrig GmbH & Co KG). Bill Doherty is a long-serving board member and former chair of the Irish Medtech Association. He currently chairs the IMA’s Code of Ethics Committee and leads its PR Taskforce. Bill served on the board of Eucomed during its merger with EDMA to form Medtech Europe and is currently a member of the Code Taskforce (Hypercare Team) established by Medtech Europe’s board to advise on Code implementation. Bill believes in the importance of national association participation at European level and has encouraged the Irish Medtech Association to become highly engaged with Medtech Europe through the different working groups. Bas is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Prior to this role, Bas was Senior Vice President Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) for Philips Healthcare, based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Bas began his professional career at Philips almost 25 years ago as a Clinical Scientist in the Surgery Business Unit and subsequently held roles in sales, marketing, manufacturing and general management with increasing responsibility. During the last 6 years he has been actively involved in the integration of Volcano and Spectranetrics into Philips, following the acquisitions of these companies. Bas holds two Master degrees from the Eindhoven University of Technology; one from the Faculty of Nuclear Physics and the other one in Business Marketing (MBM).
