MedTech Europe publishes white paper on Interoperability Standards in Digital Health accompanied by a launch webinar on 18 October
Posted on 06.10.2021
MedTech Europe, in cooperation with COCIR, published today a white paper on digital health interoperability around the medical technology industry’s perspective on the standards, profiles, and specifications relevant to digital health and on the organisations that drive them. The paper, Interoperability Standards in Digital Health, provides insights on how the standards and specifications relate to interoperability needs and assesses the policy environment needed to drive their adoption. The paper comes with a detailed discussion on four specific medical technology domains: personal health devices, cardiac implants, imaging, and labs. The paper is available here.
MedTech Europe and COCIR will also host a webinar on 18 October 2021 at 16.00 to present the white paper to the public and convene a panel of experts to exchange ideas on the current interoperability landscape in the EU and what needs to be done in order to break down barriers in the adoption of interoperability standards in digital health. The panel will feature speakers from the European Commission, the Dutch Health Ministry, HIMSS and industry. It will also include an audience interaction through a Q&A session.
