MedTech Europe unveils Facts & Figures 2025, a snapshot of innovation and impact in Europe

Brussels, 4 September 2025 – Europe’s medical technology sector continues to grow as a powerhouse of innovation and economic strength, according to Facts & Figures 2025, published today by MedTech Europe.
The report reveals a sector that is both highly innovative and deeply rooted in Europe’s economy and health systems:
- 930,000+ people employed: more than the population of Amsterdam, with each role generating €183,000 in value.
- Europe is home to 38,000+ companies, 90% of them SMEs, many with fewer than 50 employees, yet driving innovation across borders.
- 15,700+ patents filed in 2024, equal to one every 30 minutes, confirming medtech’s place among the leading fields at the European Patent Office.
