Joint industry call for proportionate EU action on professional Third-Party-Litigation-Funding (TPLF)​

MedTech Europe, together with leading European and international industry associations, has issued a joint statement on the need for European action on professional Third-Party-Litigation-Funding (TPLF).​

The signatories support proportionate and binding EU rules, that address potential risks in TPLF, follow a minimum harmonisation approach, and focus on professional, for-profit funding arrangements where divergent national approaches create legal uncertainty.​

The signatories call on the European Commission to prioritise its work on TPLF by launching a proper Call for Evidence on professional TPLF. Alongside the other signatories, MedTech Europe stands ready to contribute data, experience and technical input to the Commission’s evidence-gathering and assessment process.​
