Field Manual on scaling innovations
Scaling innovations for long-term impact is challenging. To support projects, the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) has developed a Field Manual on scaling innovations emerging from public-private partnerships. This practical guide offers a structured framework to develop robust exploitation plans, value propositions, and business cases. Drawing on the experience of several IMI digital health projects, the Manual provides actionable guidance applicable across the wider IHI portfolio. It includes practical advice on defining a clear scale-up vision, identifying key drivers, opportunities and challenges, assessing the capabilities required for scaling, and selecting the most effective scale-up pathway. To help stakeholders explore the Manual in more detail, the IHI Office will host an interactive online masterclass on 3 June. Registrations are now open here.
IHI Call Days for Call 13
Looking ahead, the IHI Call Days for Call 13 will take place online from 24 to 30 June 2026. These sessions will cover both the call topics and the rules and procedures, equipping applicants with the knowledge needed to prepare strong proposals. Call 13, a two-stage call planned for summer 2026, is expected to include draft topics such as a European healthcare incubator network, an AI-based toxicology framework to potentially replace second-species testing, and research into the immunoscience of age-related diseases.
Further details and registration information are available via the official Call Days webpage.
IHI Forum 2026
Finally, the IHI Forum 2026 will be held in Brussels on 20–21 October, under the theme “Translating research into long-term impact.” The event will bring together stakeholders from across the IHI community and beyond to explore how public–private partnerships contribute to advances in healthcare, industrial competitiveness, and EU policy priorities. It will also provide valuable opportunities to build collaborations, exchange insights, and share experiences.
Registration will open soon, with preliminary information already available online here.
