Posted on 04.05.2016
We are delighted to inform you that this year Malcolm Carlisle Lecture will be delivered by Sir Kent Woods, former Chairman of EMA and Chief Executive of MHRA. Taking a wider perspective than simply medical devices and medicines, Sir Kent’s lecture will explore the forces driving “the regulatory state” towards greater complexity over the past couple of decades, and the need to maintain clarity of purpose, accountability and expertise:
Complexity in Regulation: Causes, Consequences and Cures
Wednesday 1 June 2016, 5.00pm – 8.00pm
Venue: Club des Guides, rue d’Arlon 32, 1000 Brussels
The ‘Malcolm Carlisle Memorial Lectures’ commemorate the life and work of Malcolm Carlisle OBE. A lawyer, entrepreneur, family man and patient, with a challenging iconoclastic style, these series of lectures offer a chance for an informal exchange of views by those who share a passion for intellectual honesty and debate in healthcare. The intended audience includes parliamentarians, members of government, policy making officials, patient groups, the healthcare industry, academics, medical and healthcare professionals, healthcare journalists & the wider press, entrepreneurs and members of the public with a specific interest in health.
