EC organizes a workshop on Innovation Procurement in Healthcare

Posted on 03.10.2019

On 17 October, the European Commission’s Directorates-General for Research and Innovation (RTD) and for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (CNECT) are organizing a workshop on Cross-border innovation procurement in health: EU funding opportunities & best practices. The EC reports that EU health service providers face many challenges, including funding, fragmented legal framework, lack of common standards or interoperability and varying user/patient preferences across the European Union. Representatives of the EURIPHI project, coordinated by MedTech Europe, are invited to this workshop and hence, to further contribute to the debate on how the existing EU Innovation Procurement instruments in the area of health, such as Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) and Public Procurement of Innovative solutions (PPI) can better respond to the current challenges faced by the health care sector across the EU.

More information on the workshop you may find here.
