EHDS Consensus Statement: Ensuring the full potential of the EHDS

On the 20th of October 2022, MedTech Europe alongside 29 stakeholders from across the European health sector, including industry, healthcare professionals, research and patients organisations published a joint consensus statement broadly welcoming the European Commission’s proposal on the European Health Data Space (EHDS). The Regulation has the potential to harness the benefits of the digital age for better health outcomes.

The consensus statement encourages decision-makers to strongly support the EHDS and to engage with stakeholders to ensure the final Regulation optimises its potential. To this end, seven recommendations are formulated for the European Commission to consider when developing more specific plans on implementation across the Member States.
