European Commission: adapting the liability rules to the digital age and AI

MedTech Europe has recently contributed to the European Commission’s (EC)  public consultation (available here) regarding the proposed revision of the product liability framework consisting of the Product Liability Directive 85/374/EEC and national liability rules. MedTech Europe supports non-legislative initiatives (e.g. guidance) as the Product Liability Directive has achieved a reasonable balance between consumer protection and innovation.
