European Data Protection Board adopts new Guidelines on data transfers
Posted on 02.12.2021
On 18 November, the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) has adopted new Guidelines on the interplay between data transfers and territorial scope under the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
The Guidelines provide three cumulative criteria that would categorise data processing as a transfer of personal data to a third country or an international organisation.
MedTech Europe, particularly the Data Protection Committee, is monitoring the developments around international data transfers very closely and will also participate in the public consultation, which is open until the end of January.
