IHI turns two: Seven cutting-edge projects drive health innovation forward
Posted on 07.12.2023
The highlight of Innovative Health Initiative’s (IHI) second year has been the start of the very first projects.
Five projects are now ongoing as a result of call #1. These projects address cancer and neurodegenerative diseases and bring on board partners from the different industry sectors involved in IHI, universities, small and medium-sized enterprises, and patient organisations from the pharmaceuticals, medical technology, big data and imaging sectors.
Moreover, two additional projects resulting from call #2 are ongoing for a duration of respectively 54 and 48 months:
- iCARE4CVD, which aims to personalise prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease and brings together 33 partners from civil society, academia and industry.
- HEU-EFS, which aims at supporting medical device innovation in the EU through the development of a dedicated early feasibility study program and brings together 22 partners from universities, hospitals, contract research organisations, patient associations, health technology assessment agencies, SMEs and industrial partners.
Additional projects resulting from call #3 will be launched in the coming weeks.
Via these first seven projects, more than 170 partners are currently collaborating in research activities that address public health needs, improve patients’ lives, and boost the competitiveness of Europe’s health industries.
