From 9-12 November 2015 medical technology was placed at the heart of European policy making. Located right in front of the European Parliament the world of medical technologies was showcased through a truly innovative and interactive exhibition.
Participants had the opportunity to discover how various conditions and disorders can be addressed with the support of diagnostics and medical devices.
Ms. Mairead McGuinness, Vice-President of the European Parliament, hosted the event and opened the welcome reception with an inspiring speech.
During the three days more than 300 people visited the exhibition, including Members of the European Parliament, the European Commission, Parliament officials, Health Ministry representatives as well as many other stakeholders with an interest in health and innovation.
The week was also marked with various activities: 50 volunteers took part in a ‘10.000 steps challenge’ to raise awareness about World Diabetes Day, the “MedTech & You” selfie competition took place on Facebook and a series of meetings with policy makers took also place at the event.
The aim of the event was to create awareness about the industry breadths, sharing concrete technology solutions and proposing tangible contributions to the health and innovation agendas of EU decision makers.
