MedTech Europe at the EU40 discussion on “Artificial Intelligence aiding the fight against COVID-19”

The EU40 (the platform of young Pro-European Members of the European Parliament) hosted an online event on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) has helped the fight against COVID-19 and what are the possibilities ahead of AI for coping with future pandemics. MedTech Europe presented the medtech industry recommendations around health data interoperability, financing of digital health, the need for a balanced regulatory environment for AI, considering existing legislation and the importance of digital skills.

MedTech Europe was represented by Kalina Bozhkova, Manager Government Affairs, and spoke along with Alex Agius Saliba, MEP Rapporteur on the Digital Services Act, Werner Stengg, Cabinet Expert on AI in the Cabinet of Executive Vice-President Vestager, and Angeliki Dedopoulou, EU Public Affairs Senior Manager at Huawei.
