MedTech Europe at the High-Level Expert Group on AI workshop on Healthcare

The independent High-Level Expert Group on AI (HLEG AI), set up by the European Commission, has organized a series of workshops to collect feedback from different sectors on the Policy and Investment Recommendations on AI, issued in 2019. MedTech Europe was invited to join the healthcare workshop on 23 April, aimed at collecting feedback from various healthcare stakeholders and experts. The attendees discussed points to be taken into account given existing sectoral legislation (such as the MDR and IVDR) and the specific needs of the healthcare sector, to advance the implementation and deployment of AI in healthcare.

As a reminder, in Nov 2019 MedTech Europe published its position paper in response to the HLEG AI Policy and Investment recommendations, Artificial Intelligence in MedTech: Delivering on the Promise of Better Healthcare in Europe.
