MedTech Europe’s responses to the European Health Union Consultations
Posted on 03.03.2021
Over the course of February 2021, MedTech Europe has submitted its feedback to the European Commission’s public consultations on the European Health Union.
The consultations were on three proposals for Regulation – (1) a strengthened role of the European Medicines Agency (EMA), (2) a reinforced mandate of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), and (3) stronger and more comprehensive rules for serious cross-border health threats – and on an Inception Impact Assessment of the European Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA). On HERA, the European Commission will be launching another consultation on a proposal for Regulation in the first quarter of 2021 (presumably in March) to which MedTech Europe intends to submit feedback.
You can find MedTech Europe’s feedback through the following links:
• European Medicines Agency – strengthened role to address public health emergencies.
• European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control – reinforced mandate.
• Serious cross-border health threats – stronger, more comprehensive rules.
• European Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA) – Inception Impact Assessment.
