Medtech industry continues to work to manage the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic
Posted on 03.07.2020
The medical technology industry partners with all healthcare actors to further monitor the development and give its support in the continued management of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Among other elements, healthcare actors should consider preparing for the flu season in autumn and the potential impact it can have in the ongoing COVID-19 efforts.
In parallel with the acute management of the pandemic, healthcare systems are also increasing their efforts to slowly and stably restart non-COVID-19 related healthcare services. Depending on local circumstances, healthcare systems are already working on the prioritisation of clinical activities to reintroduce non-COVID-19 related health services such as screening, referral pathways, and continuation of care and elective interventions.
The industry also believes that efforts must be made to address the reluctance and concerns of people to go back to healthcare facilities and receive care that they urgently need.
The medical technology industry is continuously geared to supporting all efforts to restart healthcare services safely and swiftly.
