World Hand Hygiene Day – an accessible tool to reduce AMR and Health Associated Infections

On 5 May, the World Health Organization marks #WorldHandHygieneDay. The theme this year focuses on saving lives by cleaning your hands.

Healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) can be substantially reduced if everybody keeps their hands clean, and cleaning your hands can also help to prevent the spread of infections and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).

MedTech Europe supports the European Patient Group on Antimicrobial Resistance (#AMRPatientGroup), which brings together patient groups from across Europe. The AMR Patient Group aims to raise awareness about Ahttps://amrpatientgroup.eu/MR and HAIs to reduce antibiotic misuse and advocate for national policies to tackle them, as well as address the gap in awareness about the danger of antibiotic misuse and the lack of effective infection prevention measures.
