Diabetes is a silent pandemic affecting more than 61 million people in Europe – equivalent to the population of Italy – and the numbers are rising. For individuals living with diabetes, management is a 24/7 job, which if not done effectively can lead to serious health complications. Digital solutions play an increasingly important role in meeting the growing diabetes challenge, supporting people with diabetes, their care teams and wider health systems in managing the condition – but more work must be done.
