The MedTech Forum 2025: Empowering a Healthier Tomorrow

Posted on 15.05.2025

Lisbon, 15 May 2025 – Around 1,000 participants from across Europe and beyond gathered in Lisbon this week for The MedTech Forum 2025, Europe’s leading conference for the medical technology sector. Held from 13–15 May and organised by MedTech Europe in collaboration with Apormed and Apifarma, the Forum brought together decision-makers from industry, healthcare, policy, and academia to tackle challenges and opportunities shaping the future of healthcare.

In his opening remarks, Oliver Bisazza, CEO of MedTech Europe, underscored the sector’s shared commitment:

“We are here – at The MedTech Forum – because we share a common commitment:  to help make innovative medical technology available to more people, while helping healthcare systems move towards a more sustainable path“.

With more than 60 sessions across three days, the Forum featured headline moments such as the CEO #nofilter panel, where top industry voices shared unfiltered insights on leadership, innovation, and navigating uncertainty. The Ask the Expert sessions offered participants direct engagement with specialists on critical topics ranging from patient safety to regulatory compliance.

Key themes included:

  • Digital health: generative AI, digital twins, and real-world data are rapidly reshaping clinical pathways and patient engagement.
  • Policy and regulation: a series of sessions explored the evolving EU regulatory landscape, and how innovation can thrive in the current policy environment.
  • Sustainable healthcare: Sustainability was a recurring theme, with dialogue on the role of medtech in decarbonising health systems, improving circularity, and reducing environmental impact.
  • Cybersecurity and resilience: As healthcare systems digitise, experts addressed how the medtech sector can ensure secure, robust digital infrastructures.

In addition, many discussions centred on patient engagement, access to innovation, and ensuring health equity remains a core priority for the medical technology sector.

A consistent message emerged across sessions: to build resilient, future-proof healthcare systems in Europe, collaboration, innovation, and equitable access must remain at the heart of the medtech agenda.

In the closing remarks, MedTech Europe announced that The MedTech Forum 2026 will take place in Stockholm, Sweden, from 11 to 13 May 2026.
