European Commission launches action plan to decrease backlog of non-cited standards and to improve harmonisation process

On 9 October 2017, the European Commission published an Action Plan that was developed in collaboration with CEN, Cenelec and ETSI, aiming to provide pragmatic solutions to decrease the backlog of non-cited harmonised standards and to improve the overall harmonisation process. The action plan includes a number of measures to ensure the legislative compliance of harmonised standards and a more transparent and accountable joint assessment, followed by timely citation in the future.
