EU Member States and policymakers must preserve the ambition of the Digital Omnibus

MedTech Europe, together with a group of industry associations representing technology providers, digital infrastructure companies, SMEs and digitally enabled businesses, is calling on EU Member States and policymakers to preserve the ambition of the Digital Omnibus proposal.

The Digital Omnibus represents an important opportunity to simplify overlapping and fragmented rules across data, ePrivacy and cybersecurity frameworks. However, ongoing Council discussions risk weakening key simplification objectives and introducing additional complexity and regulatory burdens.

The joint statement calls on policymakers to maintain meaningful simplification measures, including targeted GDPR clarifications, an EU-level Single Entry Point for cyber incident reporting, and the adequate protection of trade secrets.
