Small and Medium-sized Entreprises now Partners in Research at MedTech Europe

Start-ups and, more generally, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) can now apply as Partners in Research, a new category of Corporate Associate Partners to participate in all activities in Research and Innovation at MedTech Europe.

So far, SMEs could participate in projects in the context of the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) in two different ways: on the public side, like academics, healthcare professionals, patient associations, and regulators, or as industry partners if they were members of an affiliated National Association. Partners in Research can now join also on the industry side.

It is important to note that SMEs can either join IHI projects on the public side, with 100% EC funding of their research costs, or as private industry contributors only partly funded in 1-stage calls; the funding model will vary accordingly.
