MedTech Europe Code of Ethical Business Practice: Info Day for Healthcare Organisations

European Healthcare Organisations and Healthcare Professionals were invited by MedTech Europe to join a full-day informative session on the new MedTech Europe Code in Brussels, on September 21. More than 20 HCOs attended the meeting, alongside MedTech Europe secretariat and industry representatives who provided the business perspective and answered numerous practical questions.

A live survey clearly displayed the HCOs major concerns as regards the phase-out of direct sponsorship for third-party organised events: the decreasing support and commitment of the industry putting the medical education of HCPs at risk; the growing competition of company-organised events and the management of the logistical aspects of an educational grants system. Positively, the survey also showed that a growing number of HCOs are preparing their organisation to transition to the new rules.
