

Marc Koska OBE
Inventor of the K1 Auto-Disable Syringe and Founder of the SafePoint TrustMarc Koska invented the K1 disposable syringe in the mid 90’s as a reaction to the alarming spread of HIV and other deadly diseases through the re-use of needles, especially in the developing world. Two decades later it is estimated that his invention has saved millions of lives.
Marc is also the founder of SafePoint, a not-for-profit trust set up to promote awareness of the dangers of unsafe injections. He has been awarded the OBE in recognition of his contribution to global healthcare and was instrumental in a World Health Organisation mandate to introduce auto-disable syringes for all curative purposes.
